Preparing for my first-ever craft show last month kept me scrambling since August!
First, my printer packed it in just as I was starting a run of 300 cards — OK, buy and learn to use a new one. (My new Epson 8550 is a dream machine. Anyone out there using one?)
In addition to cards, I designed, printed, and laminated a few hundred bookmarks, each one complete with tassel and Tibetan silver charm — and also mounted about a dozen prints of my drawings with mats and backboards.
To add to the brouhaha, I was determined to have the Art by Granny website go live before the craft show!
Some how, it all came together, and here’s a trial setup on my kitchen counter a few days before the show (that’s my friend Judy at the end of the table).

Show day was sunny and clear, and off we went at 7:30 am to set up for the 9:00 am opening. Here’s the Art by Granny table. All these items are available in my shop.

The day went well — I sold some cards, a lot of bookmarks, and one customer commissioned a portrait for a birthday gift. My family came by later in the day with coffee and treats — and a beautiful poinsettia from my son. They helped us pack everything when the show was over.

Here’s my friend Judy and I at the end of the day. We’ve worked together from the beginning, and I couldn’t have done this without her help and expertise. Here we are a bit tired, but elated that things went so well. Ready for the next show!

Here I am fooling around with a plastic holly berry crown!
Wishing everyone a safe and joyous holiday season. Keep in touch!
Linda
